As a management consultant, Bob discovered just about 20 years ago the power of MS Access to solve such a variety of business problems that he has focused on customizing database programs ever since.

 There are more installations of Access in the world that any other database.  It is the basis for most courses that teach database for a number of reasons: 1) it has something for even the beginner, 2) it addresses the second most important resource of a business (data) the first being employees, 3) hidden underneath is a powerful language that allows wonderful software solutions, and 4) most companies already have this building block on hand. 

Some of the more challenging assignments have been integrating Access with Word, Excel and Outlook to simplify operations and reduce work-load.

 

Bob holds engineering degrees from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.  He has six children, 3 sons and 2 daughters in the Chicago area, and a daughter in Oklahoma.

 When the internet bubble broke some years ago, clients for custom software stopped buying.  During this slow-down he relocated from New New Hampshire to Florida, following the trail of his younger sister who has been here some 15 years now. 

He is an Air Force veteran, and worked for a number of family-owned companies before branching out on his own first as an industrial systems integrator, then as a consultant, and finally as a programmer who helps small to mid-sized businesses.
